Wing Mounting Prep - Center Channel Cover
TLDR
- Closed Center Channel on the Rear Passener Row
- Installed USB Power
- Installed Music Plug
- Adjusted M4 holes for Cover Plates
- Installed Carpet on Cover Plates
Details
I want to install as much as I can inside the cockpit before I attach the wings. There are still a bit left on the center channel so I finally took some time to wrap up this work and close the cover plate.
I will have to reopen the plate in a few weeks to route the parachute cables, but for now I want to close it fully to ensure it fits, and also provides a bit structural support when I move around in the cockpit to attach wings in the near future.
The work to close the plate is trivial, but required a lot of small tweaks (read: reaming, shaving materials here and there, cutting carpets) on the parts for the entire channel’s cover plate to fit.
I worked on this for a few hours across 2 days, and eventually got the channel to fully close and M4 screws are tightened, for now.
USB Power
One slightly complicated work is to connect the USB power for the passengers. The wire is pre-labeled as AFR48 with a white wire and a white/blue wire. According to the diagram, the white/blue is the positive end and white is the negative end. I confirmed as such using my mutimeter, and crimped the wires to a spade connector and hooked them up to the USB plug.
