Fuel Pressure Test, Seat Adjustment, Tail Fairing
TLDR
- Conducted fuel pressure test
- Adjusted copilot seat
- WIP installing tail fairing
Details
Today’s still preparing for the engine start.
Fuel Pressure Test
I connected the fuel line to the engine inlet. The full fuel circult is complete.
Then I turned on the Rotax pumps to see the fuel pressure. It reads 46.1/46.2 PSI, which is slightly higher than the 46 PSI normal operation range but smaller than the max range. I am not sure what to think of that.
Sent the question to builders group on facebook as well as Sling Technical. On Facebook, Adam from MWPB asked me to confirm the fuel pressure sender is the right part, which it was.
But since it’s only 0.2 PSI over, I don’t think this will stop me from engine start test next.
Seat Adjustment
Well to start the engine, I need to sit in the airplane. I test fitted both front seats. The pilot seat slides back and forth ok but the copilot seat was properly stuck. I took it back out and ground off a small chunk of the locking latch. It worked much better after the grinding.
The latch after grinding, it’s 3 mm shorter
Tail Fairing
I didn’t really want to start the engine today. So just picked up some non-urgent task. I started to drill holes to secure the tail fairing.
The fairing fitted very well to the tail right out of the box. I didn’t need to do any trimming or sanding. So I just followed the manual instruction to drill holes. Not finished yet, will probably continue after the engine start test.
