Fuel sender connector

The wire for the fuel sender is prebuilt into my wiring harness. The wire for the right wing is EIS7B (left wing is EIS6B).

The thing is, the wire has 3 strands whereas I only need 1 wire to connect to the fuel sender.

Adam from Midwest Panel Builder previous told me I just need the signal wire from the bundle, and can tuck the others away. I sent him an email to confirm which wire is the sinal wire - he told me it’s the white-blue wire.

So I striped the wire and crimped it with a blade connector. That’s it for now. I won’t actually connect it until I am done with fuel line connections, otherwise this wire will interfere in the space when I work on fuel lines.

Flap locking collars

There are 2 locking collars for each flap. I worked on the right flap today.

After the wing is mounted, the flap’s own torque tube and the torque tube on the flap motor are still detached. The locking collar is what actually connects them together.

First, a small locking collar needs to be installed right next to the torque tube’s rotating bushing (drill and rivet) to stop the torque tube wiggling around. I forgot to take photos here. But the TLDR is that drilling holes and putting rivets in after the wing is attached was really hard. I managed to get the rivet in and lock the collar in place.

Secondly, a long locking collar to connect the two torque tubes together (flap motor tube and flap tube).

I measured the total size of the locking tube, found the center point and set the tube evenly across the two torque tubes. And then I calculated the location to drill 4 x 3/16 holes for the AN3 bolts.

After that, I cleaned up the area and torqued the locking collar with 4 AN3 bolts. I powered on the avionics and tried to move the flap up and down to ensure the fully connected torque tubes have no interference from surroundings. Everything looked good.
