Finishing Tail Fairing Install

Details

Since I’m still waiting for some response on the ECU lane lights, I decided to take on something easier - the tail fairing.

Last week I already started to drill holes into the tail fairing, today I finished that job. Then I enlarged the holes on the fuselage for M4 rivnuts.

Then I mated the tail fairing to the fuselage with M4 screws. Nothing tricky, just a lot of rivnuts and test fits.

Trimming the tail

Once the tail fairing was fitted, I tested the movement of the elevator.

When the elevator was full up, it touches the tail end of the fairing. So I drew a line to mark where was touching, and used a grinder to cut off that section on the fairing.
